It struck flip •vail, and, breaking, a piece struck plaintiff" in the right eye. He rushed out, with blood streaming from his eye. and his father tried to intercept him. PlainTiff got away with torn clothes, and potnit of the house with a revolver loaded with blank cartridge, which lie kept as omo sort of protection against defendant’s violence, and ho fired it off. He was met by a friend who assisted him and took him to a doctor, who ordered him to a hospital. Plaintiff had lost the sight of his right eye, had been over a month in this hospital, and had suffered intense igony, having lost 2st in weight. Plaintiff iravo evidence as to the assault, and detailed some disgusting language used by his father.

The jury found a verdict for plaintiff for .£IOOO, with a recommendation that the money bo invested for the plaintiff'. His Honor directed that £9OO should he invested till plaintiff 1 was 25.
