According to the Sydney Telegraph, the Rev. A. Dewdncy, who represents the New Zealand Baptist Union at the Baptist Conference in Melbourne, brihga “tidings of great joy” concerning the No-liccnsc"pros-pects in the Dominion. Mr and Mrs Jack McFarlane, accompanied by Misses Verna and Olivo AVilliams, left to-day to join the Manama on a holiday of some weeks in Australia. ■ 'Fho employees of Mhssrs A. C. Lcnuard and Co.’s establishment met together yesterday evening to wish Mr F. G. Leonard, junior partner of the. firm, who is leaving for the Old Country and America, bon voyage and a safe and happy return to his native country. The presentation of a very handsome travelling rug was made. Mr .Leonard, in responding, spoke as to the good feeling that had always existed between him and the employees, and thanked them heartily for their good wishes. Mr Lennard leaves on Friday for Auckland to catch the Orient liner Oryieto for London, where ho expects to re main for about three months. It is Mr Lcnnard’s intention to visit the Continent and Ireland, and to return to New Zealand via Now York and the States. AVe wish him a pleasant and enjoyable trip.
