The ’Federal’ : ’Government received a communication ffbin the British Board of Trade - endorsing a resolution adopted by the Associated’ Chambers of Commerce in favour of tires alteration of the calendar scheme. It provides; (1) That New Year’s Day shall be regarded as dice non and not be counted as belonging to the month or week; (2) that the present extra day in leap year be interpolated in the middle of each fourth year, and treated as dies non; (3) that the remainder of the year bo divided into four quarters each, containing two months of thirty days, and one month of thirty-one days. Under this arrangement each year begins on the same day of the week. Christmas Day will also fall on the same day of the week; (4) Easter to’ bo fixed, instead of a moveable feast.
