The following rosalutionsi.wcro passed at the W.C.T.U; ",Convention to-day: “That the W.C.T.U. in convention assembled, expresses entire sympathy’ with the efforts made to provide scientific practical instruction in. domestic economy, and views with much pleasure the foundation of the chair for home economics in the Otago University.” “That they most heartily endorse the proposals of the .Christchurch branch for the more thorough training in domestic economy of all girls in the Dominion.” “In view of the-fact that the exhibitions of moving pictures which are so popular with all ages and classes in the community may either-be of great educational value both"to the head and. to the heart, or bo subtle or effective teachers of immorality and vice, the women of the W.C.T.U. Convention are assembled to urge on the Government the need for appointing a censor to examine all film’s proposed to be publicly exhibited.” “That the ; Convention desires to record its appreciation of the work of Sir J. G. Ward and Dr. Findlay in securing the repeal of the C.D. Act, and also wishes to emphasise the great need for a more thorough and systematic teaching of the laws of health and more persistent affirmation of the necessity for purity of life both in men and women.”
