Our annual race meeting was held at Wanganui on August 25, and was again a most successful affair. The fields were: good, racing excellent, and a net profit of £93 16s 2d was made, which must be considered most satisfactory. The club has again to offer Mr Selby Morton and his assistants their heartiest thanks for the. manner in which they conducted the meeting. It was due almost entirely to their efforts that the race meeting was such a: decided success. The hunt hall was heW at Hawcra, and was, as usual, a very enjoyable affair, but was not a financial success. The thanksoosf s the committee are due to those who worked so hard and assisted in connection therewith. During the season the club hold 23 meets, at most of which good sport was obtained, and, happily, no serious accidents occurred. Owing to the new laws in connection with race, our race meeting is likely to be seriously affected, and it will be necessary for the club to consider whether it will beadvisable to hold another meeting or not.

Horses owned and qualified by members of the club has again won many of the principal leaping events at the various A. and P. shows along the coast during the season. This goes to show that our members are well mounted. Tour committee, on behalf of the club, wish to thank most heartily the farmers over whoso property we have 1 been privileged to hunt for their kindness in placing their properties at the club’s disposal. The committee’s warmest thanks are also due to the ladies' who so kindly supplied lunches and afternoon teas at the various meets, and who worked so hard in the club’s interests. Tlie Wanganui Jockey Club kindly "donated <£2s and the Waverley Pacing Club £ls to the club’s funds. The Wanganui Jockey Club placed their beautiful grounds at the club’s disposal for the race meeting. For these donations your committee return their host thanks. We wish to again place on record the services rendered to the club by our branch secretaries, Messrs Selby Morton. Wanga nui, and Douglas Noake, Waverley, both of whom have devoted much of,their time to attending to the club’s affairs. We wish also to thank our auditor, Mr Georg** Holder, for having kept an eye on the club’s finances, and for the manner which he carried out his duties.
