CROQUET.

WANGANUI CROQUET CLUB. The progressive tournament for the prize presented by Mrs J. Moore was played on • the lawns on Saturday. The contest was a very close one, the winner being Mr D. Ritchie, and the runner-up Mrs Patterson. Mr Ritchie started from scratch. Mrs Moore kindly presented the prize to the winner. Afternoon tea was given by Mrs H. Bayly, and a largo number were on the ground watching the games. The Palmerston North players are visiting Wanganui on Thursday, 30th inst., to play the local club. The players to represent Wanganui re:—Mrs Sarjeant, Mrs Patterson, Mrs Innes, Messrs Ritchie, Stevenson, Bayly, Izard, and, Gordon.
