OKEHU RESERVOIR INSPECTION.

BOROUGH COUNCIL’S ANNUAL VISIT. The annual official visit of the "Wanganui Borough Council to the. Okehu reservoir was made on Saturday- last. A party of nineteen, including the Councillors, the borough officials, and leading citizens, lei t the Borough Chambers about 7.30 aju.. returning after a delightful day, about 7 p.m. The more energetic members of the party followed the pipe-track for the last four miles of the journey out, and found . everything'-im'* excellent order. The state of the reservoir left nothing to be desired, and Caretaker Kmidson was congratulated on the thoroughness of ' his work. The Okehu district was, however, treated to a shower on Friday night, which- raised the water in the dam about 2ft. A start was made for home about. 3 p.m., and according to time-honoured custom, Mr Menli’s hospitable invitation was accepted, and a call was made at his residence for refreshment.
