Mrs Newell, wife of Andy Newell, a former prominent cricketer, who disappeared some time ago, has been awarded ,£2OO damages against the Sun newspaper for publishing an article purporting to be founded on a letter received by a friend from Newell, wherein it was stated that he went away for reasons of a domestic character. The defendants were granted a stay of proceedings.
