AGAIN UNDER ARREST.

NEW PLYMOUTH KNYVETT CASE. NEW PLYMOUTH, March 22Some months ago Captain Mills, of the Taranaki Guards, was placed under arrest for insubordination in not attending a parade or furnishing sufficient excuse for non-attendance. It was stated at the time that the affair was the outcome of the fact that Captain Mills had been superseded by the appointment of Captain Bellringer as Major, the latter being junior to Mills. Captain Mills was brought before a Court of Inquiry, and at the expiration of several months was found guilty of insubordination, and reprimanded, being at the same time released from arrest. An article appeared in the Taranaki Daily News headed “New Plymouth’s Knyvctt,” purporting to be a statement made by Captain Mills to J. C. Davies, an officer in the volunteers here in Taranaki’s troublesome times. Captain Mills is now again under arrest for insubordination, doubtless on account of the statements made by him criticising his superior officers.
