A NEW ANAESTHETIC.
PATIENTS SENSIBLE WHILE UNDER ; KNIFE.' PARIS, March 20. ■ A young Roumanian surgeon, named Alexander Fraicon, is perfecting a new anaesthetic, which suppresses ' sensibility while still leaving the patient lucid. As. <3. practical test of the efficiency of the process, Fraicon operated on himself for hernia. The operation took an hour to complete, he stitched up the wound, and is now well on his way to recovery.
