HAYWARD’S PICTURES.

LYCEUM THEATRE. The grand collection of pictures comprisng this mid-week series was moat lavour;bly commented oa by-the large audience present at the Lyceum Theatre last evening. This is not surprising., when oik mtes the splendid variety of the subjects diosen, which range from the most serious side of life to the most humorous. Some exceedingly fine dramatic studies were screened, one of the best being the'popular ■Vitagraph Company's film depicting a modern tale entitled “The Two LittlWaifs.” The American Biograph study. ■‘Love and the Law,” is also a nowerfu.' story, full of human interest. Two other verv good dramatics were ‘‘Jean and tin Calico Doll” and “The Lime Kiln,” both of which" were full of interest. The scenii portion of hire programme is a strong feature, “Ostrich Breeding” and “The Silkworm Industry” being two splendid films Two grand, industrial subjects wore “AM can Industries” (showing life among the natives), and “The . Museum o' Sovereigns.” The comedy clement was ■well supplied by, “Max Linder and the Puzzle,” ‘‘Marguerite’s Birthday,” and ‘O' Mat to Let.” Hayward’s. Permanent Orchestra rendered some splendid incidental selections, which added greatly to the evening’s enjoyment. TO-NIGHT. - 3EAUTIFYING SOCIETY’S BENEFIT. The benefit performance in aid of the uhds of the Beautifying Society will take dace this evening, and as there is every irospcct of a crowded house, intending rations are advised to go early.
