EASTERN FOOTBALL CLUB

The annual general meeting of the above club was held last evening, Mr W. Ainsworth presiding over a fairly large meeting.

ANNUAL REPORT.—The annual report and balance-sheet were adopted and showed there was a small credit balance and no liabilities. The following gentlemen were heartily thanked for their rinancial assistance;— Messrs C. E. Mackay, F. H. Hill. F. Beavcn, J. C. Paterson, and J. Driver, and also the Wanganui East Borough Council for the use of the Recreation Ground All members were congratulated for the maimer in which they kept together, and it was hoped their perseverance would be rewarded with better luck in the future. NEW MEMBERS.—A large number of new members were elected. ELECTION OF OFFICERS.— I The following officers were elected for the ensuing year;— Patron, Mr C. E. Mackay; president, Air J. T. Hogan, AI.P.; vice-presi-dents, Messrs J. Jones, E. H. Hill. J. C. Paterson, F. Beaveu, J. Driver, E. Murray, G. AlcDouald, A. Burton, J. F. Holoway. H. J. Turner, W. M. Luxford, L. E. Bridges, G. Alonk, T. Cody, and 7 M. Me. Conachie; secretary and treasurer, G. H. Reynolds; assistant secretary, L. Fromont; club captain, J. Wilson; committee, Messrs R. O’Donnell, D. O’Donnell, L Corby, W. Ainsworth, W. J. O’Brien, W, Wakley, M. F. O’Brien, and W. Gray. Delegates to Rugby Union, F. H. Hill, W, Wakely, and G. H. Reynolds; delegate .to Alanagcment Committee, G. H. Reynouds; Selection Committee, Messrs L. Corby. R. O’Donnell, and club captain. ACCIDENT BENEFIT FUND.—After a lengthy discussion it was decided not to entertain the Rugby Union’s scheme. A scheme to bo drawn up by the committee will be inaugurated by the club. OPENING OF SEASON.—It was decided to open the season on the 22nd prox. with a match against the Wangaehu members of the club on the Eastown Recreation Ground. SCHOOL FOOTBALL.— It was decided to assist the Sedgebrook School team in procuring jerseys.
