The Cambridge crew rowed seven furlongs, from Hammersmith to CJicswick, in 3min 57sec, which equals the record. Oxford's form is disappointing. WANGANUI CLUB. PITZHERBERT FOURS. The preliminary heats for the above—the Blue Ribbon of tho shed—were rowed on Saturday afternoon, when Collier's crew beat McDonald's by two length*, and Slipper's crew defeated Spurdle's bv a' length and a half, Marshall's crew being; J two lengths further away. • , The final on Monday produced a capitarace between the crews stroked by Day, Slipper, and Collier. Day's crew soon dropped behind, Slipper taking the lead, closely pressed by Collier. At the end ct the first half-mile Slipper was about threequarters of a length ahead, but at tiie stone groyne Collier had drawn nearly level. Slipper, however, now quickened up and drew away. Collier made a big effort near the Baths, but faltered for a stroke and fell behind, Slipper going and winning_by two lengths after a fine, fast race. This win was a popular one, and this being his second win in succession fo this coveted trophy, Slipper was warmly congratulated. S. Wbon was associated on each occasion. The winning crew comprised—T. B. Slipper (stroke), G. Barton (3), S. Harper (2), and S. Woon (bow). DUSTIN SHIELD.
