PUBLIC SPIRIT RECOGNISED.
AT TAIHAPE. (Per United Press Association.) .TAIHAPE, Mart'll 22, Mr W, McLennan, a member of the Wei. iington Land Board and other public bodies in this district, who has closely identified for the last fifteen years with the progress of Taihapo, was eqfertained at a large gathering last night, and presented with a gold watch. Mrs McLennan was also presented with a silver tea service. The speakers highly eulogised the services of the guest of the evening, especially his interest in sports.
