Press Association.—Telegraph.—Copyright. SYDNEY, January 17. The Eoman Catholic Education Conference convened by Cardinal Moran has opened. It consists of representatives of tnc clergy and Eoman teaching orders, and its objects arc to discuss education generally and to safeguard the interests of Catholic children and schools in what is termed an educational 'crisis, and also to consider the attitude of the Church in connection with bursaries and scholarships.
Cardinal Moran, in opening the Education Congress, said the enemies of the Church were seeking to undermine , the very foundations ;of Christianity, and have vowed the'total destruction of .the Church.
