Press Association.—Telegraph.—Copyright. MELBOURNE, January 17. Further heavy rain lias occurred, and many Melbourne shops are flooded. Street traffic is impeded. A serious landslide has occurred on tho Walhalla railway line.
GREAT DAMAGE DONE. Fire Engines Brought into Requisition.
Received January 18, 8.40 a;m. MELBOURNE, January 18. Fire-engines were utilised in pumping out the flooded basements of tho city. -Great damage has been done at Richmond and Geelong by the flood waters, and the roofs are collapsing with the weight of rain.
