As the result of divorce proceedings, an Englishwoman, Airs Hawkes, secured the custody of her two children in England, in 1904. Prom the date of the trial the husband and children disappeared, and the mother remained in ignorance of their whereabouts till a few weeks ago, when she learned they were in West Australia. Mrs Hawkes arrived by the mail boat this week, and legal machinery was put in motion to establish her claims. The mother met her children to-day for the first time for six years.
