Magistrate’s Court to-day,' Marti i William Tier and Joseph Edward Bowker were charged conjointly as follows: —Breaking autl entering the premises of Edward Pearce and Co. and stealing therefrom 30 pairs of boots valued at ,£2O; breaking a- d entering the premises of John Lir.dberg and stealing therefrom goods to the value of Is. There" were four other charges against Tier. These alleged that he broke and■ entered, flu ■ pr-cmi-es of the following persons and stole goods of the value stated ;• — On or about the 19th January, ;1910, Bobort V. “Siaipkiss, £9 I is; about the 29th November,- Gollia and ,Co, Proprietary, Ltd., =£lß 2s; on-or about the “same date, Harris, Morris; and C0.,,d67-.,155; aiid on or about the same date, John Keir, 6s 2d. Tier pleaded not guilty, and reserved his defence. Bowker entered a-plea of guilty. The former was committed to the Supreme Court for trial, and Bowker for sentence.
