Sellers are anxious to effect sales. Owing to beneficial rains in the United States the winter wheat belt is exceptionally favourable. The seeding conditions and in Canada are also large. Holders of cargoes are rednc :, g prices. 38a was asked for an Australian Steamer February shipment 38s 6d for sailing ships Febrnary-March, and 38s 4}d for April-May shipments. There is small in-. rry for Australian spot at about 41s parcel of 30,000 quarters per Victoria /steamer, March shipment, sold at about 38s. New Zealand longberry afloat was warmly offered at 35s 6d, c.i.f. T Flour.—The flour market is dull. Australian patents, April-Mav shipment, are held for 27s 6d. sold at 29e 6d. Oats.—The oat market is dull. Gartons. ■pot 18s 6d to 21s 6d; sparrowbills. 18s 9d to 20s 3d, and La Plata May-Jnne shipments. 14s 3d. Butter is weak and declining daily, the fin© warm weather causing an anticipation of large supplies shortly.
