A MAGNIFICENT OUTBURST. (Per United Pres* Association.) AUCKLAND, January 26. Tbe New Zealand Herald’s Taupo correspondent telegraphs to-night:—During the past week Nganrurhoe volcano has been getting more attire than usual, and this morning at 10.45 there was a magnificent outburst from the crater, which sent up columns of smoke and ash to a height of about 0000 ft. Dbe ash was carried by the light south' wind across Tongariro, and soon obscured it from view. Tbe ad, it now drifting across the sky in a nortberiy direction like a black pall. Tbe Obinepango and Wadioponu River* are bow a black swirl of water.
