COALITION AMENITIES.
The Ward-Mas&ey coalition upon the laud question (Could Ballanee and !se<l<lc:i ever have imagined such a thing 1')1 ') doea not appear to find the Premier in a happy irame of mind. But it brings joy to the he ait of Mr Ma«*-.ey. Mr Ma«<scy and his loilowers have clamoured lor the freehold title till the Premier imagines they are the whole country. And when he hastes to present them with what they ask, his reward is to hear Mr Massey boasting (as he did in the House on Ihur&day last) that he could drive the Government or lead it, as he chose, and that he had done both. Sir Joseph Ward could only weakly reply that Mr Massey hadn't. Then Mr Massey retorted that the Government was following him. And so it is. It lias given in to the Opposition clamour, and is prepared to concede nearly all Mr Masbey and his friends ask. And all the Premier can find to &ay is to deny a fact which btands up miles high. What do Liberals think of their alleged leader?
