Mr J. L. Stevenson, J.P., presided at the Police Court this morning, when a man on a charge of drunkenness was fined 5s and costs. A woman, on a similar ' charge, - was convicted and - discharged, conditionally on her going away to friends in Australia.

The dry weather is causing a run on the Okehu water in the Gonville district, where ail water used through a hese for garden or other purposes must be paid for through meter. Some of the residents who are not connected by meter have been using the- hose, and the Board notifies that any persons found infringing the agreements they signed will 'be prosecuted, and the water cut off.
