A Week's Armistice

In consequence of British and Russian representations, the Shah has granted a week's armistice at Tabitz to prevent the hunger-jstrieken elements from attacking the Consulates. The armistice had such a good effect locally that the order given at Sir Edward, Grey's instance for tne Russian force to occupy Tabriz has been suspended. Baskerville, an i merican missionary, was killed, before the armistice, in a" Nationalisfsortie to seize the enemy's bread.
