THOEOUGHGOOD AND PEARCE
Thoroughgood, the champion sculler of Australia, and Pearce^ ex-champion of Australia, have both commenced the active part of their training for the match to be rowed in May next for the title and ,£IOO aside.
Pearce is out sculling every morning nowa and every afternoon also. He does a gqjod deal of walking, taking two long trips( a day, one in the morning and one in the evening. Thoroughgood is having a new boat built by George Towns for the match. It is to be slightly smaller than his last one.
