The missing Rona.

WELLINGTON, March 31. There are no tidings as to the whereabouts of the scow Rona which left Wellington last Thursday with a salving party for the scene of the wreck of the Ben Avon at Palliser Bay. Bartolo Russo, owner of the vessel, and S. Neweon, a member of the party which chartered h^r for the expedition, scout the idea that she has come to grief. Both are of the opinion that if she is not sheltering behind one of the large rocks near where the Ben Avon struck, she has been beached at Kawakawa, an inlet in PalHser Bay. They are of the "opinion, that if the scow waa driven upon the beach, the crew will be found safe and sound, either at the lighthouse jor at the sheep station where the survivors of the Znleika sheltered until they were brought to Wellinston by the Tutanekai. The Rona left Wellington in charge of Charles Wrisler, who holds a mate's certificate. ] Glenville Barclay, «ra of Mr Barclay, native interpreter, waa one of the salv- I ing party. Constables from the Wairarana are making a thorough search along the beach.
