ROYAL PICTURES.

The popular Royal Pictures were greeted by the largest house that has yet witnessed their entertainments in the Opera House last evening. The star film was the Dieppe-Paris motor race of two months ago, received by the syndicate only a day or two ago, direct from Paris. This picture gave a vivid idea of the perils and excitements of motor racing, and provided the audience with all the thrills they could wish for. Many accidents, serious and otherwise, occurred during this race, and manjr of these were caught by the machine, 'soi that, apart from the racing, the film was one which caused tense attention and interest. The pictures of the English oyster industry were also very interesting, in particular those showing a fleet of trawlers under sail, which were beautifully clear. Tyrolean scenes, showing some beautiful water effects in the shape of cascades and rapids, were also much appreciated. Picture dramas and humorous subjects (in two of which some of the cleverest "faking" we have seeen was shown) completed a splendid programme, a pleasant break in which was two songs, in which Miss Beatrice Butler's pretty voice was heard to advantage. The Royal Pictures show again here on, the 12th inst.-
