A Christchurch telegram states that Miss Bertha Julius, daughter of Bishop Julius, was married at the Cathedral yes" terday afternoon to Mr P. A. Elworfchy, of Timaru. Between 500 and 600 guests were present, the Cathedral being crowded with other spectators. Mr J. G. F. Richards, whose brilliant success in winning a scholarship at Guy's Hospital, London, of the value of Jflso* a year, as announced by a cable mcaaige yesterday, was educated primarily at the Te Aro State School. After winning honours at Wellington College he spent two years studying science at Victoria College, where he won the Sir George Orey scholarship of the value of .£SO a T ~ar. With this he "went to London. He is , 21 years of age.
