Mr J. Graham Gow, New Zealand Trade Commissioner, is at present in Auckland after a visit to the Far Eaet.

Miss A. Lindsay and Mr H. Nicholson are passengers to Wanganui by the Athenic, due at Wellington about Tuesday next from London.

On Tuesday a couple of commercial gentlemen, who were proceeding to Cambridge by train noticed a boy in a distressed condition at one of the wayside stations, and assisted him into the train. When asked what was the matter the boy replied that he had received a thrashing at school. He was examined, and was found to be bleeding. The travellers brought him bacE^to Cambridge and had him examined by a doctor, and then sent him home in a buggy, with a letter to his father, advising him to take the boy to another doctor, and aho to have him photographed. The boy was brought back to Cambridge next Say, medically examined, and photographed.
