Avon (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, September 29. Mr John Jamieson, the Opposition candidate for the Avon seat, addressed a largely attended meeting of electors at North Linwood to-night. He favoured the elective executive, reform of the Legislative Council, leasehold, with the option of the freehold at a fair and reasonable re-valuation, workers' homes near cities, greater efficiency in the Defence Force and encouragement of Volunteers, superannuation for teachers on the same lines as the Civil Service, and reduction of borrowing. He received an attentive hearing, and at the close of his address was accorded a vote of thanks and confidence.
