A Serious Charge.
AUCKLAND, April 9. Thos. Fitzgerald, charged with eettijig fire to the residence of Mr Leo Myers, ap- ; ' peared at the Police Court -to-day. The Crown Prosecutor stated that accused had adm^tte<tesetting- fire to the house on two decasiqui/ He understood that the defence -would^e a plea of insanity. The accused was an old servant, whom Mr Myers had treated well, and no reason could be adduced for his act.
