PATHETIC CASE OF SUICIDE.
A suicide in pathetic circumstances occurred at Sydney last week. Samuel Horace Stark, aged 42 years, manager for Messrs Arthur and Co. shot himself in his office. Stark had been seriously troubled in health for a couple of years. Dur ing the past nine months he had been practically unable to attend to his duties. His firm persuaded him to, take a trip to Japan to see if that would impro7e his health, and gave him six months' leave of absence. Two months ago he returned to Sydney, but his nerves wex-e drill unstrung and his worries quickly recommenced. He called At the office one day, and shortly after noon Mr Samuel Stark, the victim's father, came over to visit him. Walking down the corridor towards his son's room he heard the report of firearms. He called out, "What's that, Horrie?" "It's all right, father," the latter responded; "keep back." A second shot followed inside the room. Stark was found in a corner with • a bullet wound in his right temple. He died soon after his arrival at the. hospital.
