TURAKINA INQUIRY.

Th« Finding.

(Per United Press Association).

WELLINGTON. October 29

The Court of Enquiry into the Turakina fire found there was no evidence to disclose the actual cause and origin of the fire, and therefore was unable to say whether it could have been prevented or not. The Court was unanimously of opinion that spontaneous combustion "in the flax or tow was not the cause of the fire. Inspection of cargo prior to shipment, and during receipt, is totally inadequate. The Court also emphasises the danger of allowing the men engaged in working cargo to take their coats and waistcoats into the hold. The temperature of the holds its not taken regularly enough and recommendations to meet these points are made by the Court. *
