The Arbitration Court, dealing with compensation claims', divided the ,£350 awarded in the case of Wm. George Her* ries, killed in the City Council's quarry, to be apportioned— £116 13s 4d, and .£233 6s 8d Ar the maintenance of three children. 9
J. Sutherland's claim against the Union Steamship Company for injuries sustained to his hand on the steamer Haupiri, was reported settled out of Court. In the case of the widow of Captain Gonzales, who lost his life at sea after 21 years with the Northern Steamship Company, the Court allotted one-third of j£339 to the widow, and the balance to her *ix children.
