A committee meeting of the British xud Puioign Uiblv Socuty \>;is hrld in Mr I L. Stevenson's office yesterday afternoon. Present — Mr G. Carson (iv the chair), Mr<» Spence, Miss Bridge, Revs. A. Morton, F. H. Spencer, J. Ross, J. G. Chapman, and R. M. Ryburn and Mossm J. V. Drecbin. Babbage, Rix, T. C. Taylor, J. L. Sterenson and Adjutant Macaulay. The sub-com-mittee, set up to enquire into a bettor system of collecting the funds of the Society, reported as follows: — (I) That one of the committee be appointed a« assititant secretary; (2) that this assistant secretary keep a roll of annual subscribers, and direct the collecting- of subscriptions; (3) that a. further effort be made to secure collectors in each church; (4-1 that a •mall circular be printed asking for annual subscriptions. It was decided to give pfTw •'.. to the committee's oroposals aud Mr T. C. Taylor was appointed aflsistant secretary. A draft circular wa« read by Bey. A. Morton and adopted. The re-arrangement of collectors was left in the hands of Bey. Morton and Mr Taylor. Spencer to lecture on "Cape to Cairo," aad to be assisted in the arrangements for same by Eev. A. Morton. A motion was carried to the effect that the meeting considered it neceaaary that a second^ agent, to assist R«v. Spencer, would be advantageous, both financially and otherwise.
