TRADES AND LABOUR COUNCIL.

(Per United Press Association). DUNEDIN, October 19. The Trades and Labour Council protest against the stoppage of the Otago Central at Clyde, and urge its prosecution to Hawea. They also protest against the action of the Government dropping tho Laud Bill. They consider that after the promise to stand or fall by the measure it would have been better to put it to the test, and that the country generally would have endorsed their action.
