THE LAND BILL Progress in Oommittee.

WELLINGTON, September 20. It is becoming increasingly difficult to discover what is happening to the Land Bill in Committee. Another meeting was held to-day, and so far as can be learned progress has been made as far as clause 7. It is said that serious differences have occurred in committee, and it is quite probable that a deadlock will yet take place. I understand that clause 3 has been held over. Present indications point to the Bill being before the Committee for a week, or more yet. Freeholders say the Bill is having a pleasant and placid time in Committee. Leasehold members of the House say it is getting rough usage.
