CAITLE AND SHE&JP AT THE FOETHCOMING SHOW, It is on the first day of the forthcoming annual show 01 the Wadganni Agricultural Association— ihat js, on Wednesday, 14th November— that the cattle and sheep classes v.ill be judged. Taking the cattle first in order oa the official programme, i aimers ami graziers will De interested to note that- there are no less than GO classes, including seven each in Shortiiorn and Grade, six each in Polled Angus, ffoLsteiiio, Ayrshire, and Jersey and Alderney, five in dairy cows, and no loss than eleven in fat stock. Some excellent prizes are offered, including many valuable specials; then there are th" champion certificates for bull, two-year-old and upward*, add, in addition, the points pnzis— for all classes of cattle— £& 6s. Surely such an attractive programme as this should, as in the past, be the meane of still increasing exhibits and consequently keen rivalry for supremacy amongst those who are" such keen enthusiasts in the breeding and rearing of those clas.es of cattle suitable for the particular requirements of the district and the jrospective customer. Another item of interest which always attracts attention is judging the weight' of a bullock. Turning from the herds to the flock? and noticing the sheep classes, there are ia all 68/ including seven eac'a in Lincoln | Cornedales, English Leicester. Karder i Leicester, Romney Marsh, South Down and Shropshire Down ; whilst in flock sheep (other. than Flock Book sheep) there are two clasps each in Lincoln. Border Leicester, Uaglieh Leicester. Eomney and tomedafea. Some particularly rich prizes are offered in addition to the Aesocialion's, through the donation of specials. The nine classes include pens of ppn^njg > & sbmed—and two others of various breeds beet adapted for freezing; fat wetiTers and ewes (any breed and any age, shorn). fat hogget ewes and wethers (shorn), and fat lambs— longwoolled and Downs or .Down cresses, most suitable for freezing. lliere is also the inevitable weiehl-iud*-ing competition, which will no doubt create as much excitement this year as it has done at the preceding shows amongst all claases of the community.
