THAMES, September 19. William HilU aged 44, injured at a timber mill at 1 Purua, near the Thames, died in the hospital. A truck fell on him. The man was severely crushed about the groin and also sustained internal injuries. Enquiries ar-3 being received from America with regard to working the cinnabar claim. It is stated that some experiments conducted have proved so satisfactory that attention is to be paid to the development of eligible properties. Petitions urging on the Government the construction of the East Coast railway are being largely signed. The extension of this line would benefit the Thames, being the nearest connecting point with Auckland.
