Rumours
WELLINGTON, September 19. The Land Bill was again in Committee this morning, and mote rumours are floating round about trouble. It is complained that under the Bill local bodies will lose their "thirds," goldtields rovenue, and flax and timber royalties, and evidence on this point was taken to-day. There was a statement- going the rounds at noon that the freehold section of the Committee had carried its point and succeeded in getting optional leasing provisions included in the Bill.
