THE PIRATE FOOTBALL CLUB SOCIAL AND DANCE.
The social and dance given by the. Pirate Football Club last night in the Assembly Rooms was a great success, thanks to the excellence of the arrangements made by the club committee and Mr B. O. Hodgson (secretary). There was a very large attendance, over one hundred couples being* present, the guests including the members of the Otago representative team. The hall looked very well, having been tastefully decorated with greenery, photographs, and flags, whilst the floor waa in capital order for dancing. The music was supplied by Mrs Lockett (piano) and Mr E. Gil bey (violin), and was first-clas9, and this coupled with the fact that Messre G. Cook, Robinson, and Treloar carried out their duties aa Me.C. excellently, added greatly to the enjoyment of the- dancers. Several vocal items were rendered, Mr Holland playing the acompaniments. A very nico supper was provided by Mesdames Wainwright and Thompson and the Misses Hodgson. The function was one of the most enjoyable of its kind held this season, and the Club are to be congratulated on ijroiT.l/iiEr such a pleasurable evening's entertainment.
