MISS TIITELL BRUNE.

Tho companies sent through Now Zealand by Mr J. C. Williamson me invariably cordially welcomed because they are invariably of" the highest quality, and probably none has a more firmly established popularity than tho combination headed by the distinguished dramatic star, Miss Tittell Brune. The announcement of another two nights' season by this popular artist commencing at the Opera House on Saturday next will no doubt be received with hearty favour by playgoers. Two plays entirely new to Wanganui will be presented. The opening production will be the stirring stage version of Charles Major's famous romance "Dorothy Vernon of Haddon Hall" by Paul Kester, author of "Sweet Ndl of Old Drury," which it is said has proved one of the greatest successes of Miss Tittell BruneVi long repertoire of plays. First produced in Australia last E&ster it secured an immediate success and attracted large audiences durmg its six weeks' run. During the recent Wellington season it has repeated its Melbourne triumph, crowding the theatre nightly. It is said to be one of the beat examples of latter day fiction turned to account for the stage, and is full of all the dash aiid bravery surrounding the picturesque period of Queen Elizabeth. The other new piece is of special interest. "Leah Kleschna," has attracted co much interest that there are few who have not heard of this remarkable play. Box plans for the two nights will be opened at Messrs Jones and Son's to-mor-row (Tuesday) morning at 9 o'clock.

Active and honorary members of the Liedertafel are reminded of the smoke concert this evening at 8 o'clock in the Fire Brigade Hall.
