WELLINGTON SKIN, WOOL, AND HIDE SALES.

MUHRAY, ROBERTS, AND CO.'S ItEPORT. Murray, Roberts and Co. report under daio 1-itii September : — We offered :i small catalogue of wool, 1,300 skina, and 400 lades and calinkins today. Buyers wore present in force, and the tone of thp market for skins and wool was firmer, though we can quote no approciablc change in prices. Hides and tallow were in strong request at higher figures, being upwards of a halfpenny per lb better for hides, a penny per lb for calfskins, and 25fi to 30s for tallow. Prices current were as follows: — Wool. — Crcssbrcd oddments 8d to 9d. crutchings (good) ti£d to 7d, crutchings (inferior) 5d to oi|d. Skins. — Halfbred £d to 9Jd, crossbred coar&o B£d to Dd, dead and hoggets 7d to Bd, lambs 8d to 9d, inferior pelted 6Jd to 7*d. Hidoa. — O:c medium to good 5Jd to G^d, ow medium to good o^d to GJd, inferior conditioned hidca o\d to SJd, calf (Mound and good) 7d to 7^d, calf (medium) 6sd to G^d, calf (damaged) 4}d to sd. Catalogues at to-day's sale were rather small, but buyers attended in force, and pi'ices were very firm I'or wool and skius, whilst hides and calfskins advanced from il to \d per lb, and tallow- about 15s ]er lon. VVo quote : — Wool. — (Ji'utchings, medium from G\d to 7d, interior 4d to Od ; dead wool, from 7id to 9d ; cropsbred, light conditioned B^d to 9^d, coarst BJd to lamb skins 8d to 9Jd, broken and inferior skins 5Jd to G^d, dead hoggets and ewes BJd to BJd, poor skins from Ss to 8s 7d, odd ekina occasionally reached 9s 3d each. Hides. — Sound ox and cow s]d to GJd, cut and damaged id to 3£d, calfskins, sound from 6}d to 7|d, cut and damaged 3d to 3d. Tallow. — Good mixed up to Sis 6d per cwt.
