Mr Gatenby's Candidature.

Sir. — I see Mr Gateiiby is trying very hard to make the electors believe lie is a staunch supporter of the present Government and their legislation. This might take with strangers, but not with the majority of electors, for we know that a man who changes his opinions many times is too much of the willy wobbler. 1?or instance, some years ago he was a great Liberal and belonged to that party, and kept well to the front. We next hear" of him fighting the Labour Department over closing on the statutory half-holiday. Next we hear of him joining the committee of tha candidate who was standing in the Opposition interest. Now he asks us to take him on trial. Not for Joe: and as he is going to run I must give him a placo— l place him No. 5.— 1 am, etc., ELECTOR.
