(From our own correspondent.) ■ PATEA, November 25. t Mr W. Symes, sitting member for this district, addrsssad a large meeting of electors at the Harmonic Hall on Wed-n-csJay evening last, Mr H. E. Deane being in the chair. The address was on the same lines as those delivered in other parts of the electorate, and was very attentively listened to. Mr Symes answered a number' of questions. The usual long list of written questions were handed up by thos.* interested in the prohibition movement, and a great deal of merriment was caused wLen the chairman was endeavouring to rfcad the questions. ; A quiet, but very pretty, wedding was solemnised at Sfcv George's Churclv on.Wednesday afternoon last, the contracting parties teing Mr W. Taylor, of HrVwera, and Mi<-s Alice Rossiter, .youngest • daughter of Mr W. Ros'siter, of this town. The Rev. Mr Hermon officiated. After the ceremony the wedding party returned to the horn? of the bride's parents, where the breakfast- was laid out. The presents were Very numerous and costly: ' Profesror Hugarde gave his. promised entertainmeht v on Wednesday evehinsr lasb, but did not receive the support his entertainment merits, no doubt due to the want of advertising. The concert was undoubtedly one- of the test ever held here, and should the Professor elect to come this way again" he will be greeted with a bumper house^
