COMMERCIAL.

MESSRS FREEMAN R. JACKSON AND

CO.'S STOCK REPORT.

On 15th instant, in our Wangaiiui yards, we held a sale of dairy cattle on account of Messrs McDonald and Walsh. Cows, close to profit, sold well. On the 17th inst. we held a sale of Mr C. B. Laird's dairy cattle at Kai Iwi. The cows were in good order and met with a keen sale.

At Turakina horse sale on the 18th inst. some 80 horses were yarded, principally unbroken draughts and half draughts, which met with a ready sale and practically the whole entry was quitted.

At Wanganui Horse Fair on the 19th, about 70 horses were offered, on the whole of inferior quality and consequently bidding was dull. There is an. inquiry for good heavy draughts fit for work. On tho 22nd inst. we offered Mr P. Smith's dairy herd at Wangaehu. The cows were in exceptionally good condition and were keenly competed for, the whole herd averaging considerably over ,£6. On tho 23rd wei held our usual Wanganui stock sale. A full yarding of both cattle and sheep came forward. Bullocks fit for the fattening paddock were in better demand ; other classes were unchanged. A nice pen of woolly hoggets, on account of Mr J. A. Blair, made 19s 4d under the hammer, other lines making full values. The demand on, the whole being keen throughout.
