AMUSEMENTS. MEETINGS. ETC

The annual meeting ' of the Wanganui Chamber of Commerce will be held on Tuesday next, 29th inst., at 8 p.m.

The Fire Brigade's annual social and dance will take place at the Station this evening. Ihe hall has been very prettily decorated for the occasion, >and the function promises to.bea most enjoyable one.

We give a final reminder of the meeting called by Mr R. M. Gatenby at 8 o'clock this evening at Castlecliff of all ladies and gentlemen willing to a,ct on his election committee.

An enjoyable entertainment was held in the Wcsleyan schoolroom last evening in connection with the Band of Hope, an excellent programme having been provided. The items included an. address by the Rev. J. G-. Chapman, choruses by the little ones, piano selections by Misses V. Jones', V. Arthur, -T. Smith, and M. Crespin; songs by^Yvonnie Clark, E. Hooper, I. Jones, Myrtle Jones, and Muriel Rice; recitations by Master Walter Johns and Misses Norma Rusden and F. Jones; and a vocal duet by Myrtle and Eva Jones. Mr J. R.
