A meeting at North Dunedin carried resolutions calling- on the school committees at that end of the city to allow the Nelson scheme to be brought into operation there. ' Bishop Neville, who presided declared for religious instruction outrighi; while Dean Fitchett said if the efforts of the clergy to give religious instruction within school hours were not conceded it would lead to denominatiozuilism. The Primate also declared that the Anglicans would be forced to establish their own schools. Other speakers declared that they had been advised that the existing' law permitted Bible reading within school hours.
