Mp Massey's Opinion.
(From. our -Parliamentary Special) (By Telegraph.)
WELLINGTQN, August 24. Interviewed on, the land "proposals. Mr Massey said they r were intended to prevent the matter being dealt with this session, just as setting up a Royal Commission was intended to block it last year. Mr Massey declares that it does not matter how many sessions it takes, he is going to see it through, and will not stop until every L.I.P. tenant has the option of the freehold. He states there is no possibility of getting a Bill through ,this year, and he has called a caucus of the Opposition Party to discuss the matter.' -He will then decide whether a no-confidence motion which he states can easily be moved, will be tabled.
The general feeling among the Oppositi.on members is that this, is the weakest thing the Premier, Jias done. One prominent member of the party says that they wanted a statesman, but the Premier being 1 unable to formulate a policy himself, is asking the House to do it for him.
