A. AND P. CONFERENCE.

o (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, July 20. The third days' sitting of the Agricultural Conference began thiis morning. President Wilson thought tho Conference would conclude to-morrow. Taking tho colony as a whole the position was unsatisfactory. Legislation seemed to him to bo the only means ot'-> stamping out unsouadness. A discussion followed, and then it was resolved "That frlio Government be asked to give a prcmiun^,to owners of approved thoroughbred atid pure draught stallions to enable gfockf owners to travel their horees in certain districts and serve a certain number of approved mares at a reduced fee." The Conference resolved, "That the Department of Agricnlture be requested to o]:en an official register in the various centres of the colony, in which entries of stock, shown to be free from hereditary disease, after examination by a duly qualified veterinary surgeon, could be made 011 payment of a roasonablo£fee, a certificate ; of Roundness to be issued to the owners of animals so passed," also that steps be taken to ascertain what is the best kind of humble bee to import for fertilising red clovers.
