Petition Against Removal cf Addington Salo Yards
A Mild Winter.
(Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 20. A movement being on foot to close the Addington sale yards, and to remove the cattle market to Sockburn, away from the Christchurch City altogether, a large number of signatures of farmers, butchers, auctioneers, graziers, and dealers, has been attached to a petition to the chairman of directors of the Canterbury Sale Yards Company, asking that every effort be made to continue the business on the present *ite. The petition points out that th» present site is the most convenient for all concerned, and asks the company to take immediate steps to open, up a direct road to the Soekburn abattoir.
